What is a Magliner and Why are they so very good.
Maline Inc USA are based in Pinconning, and have been manufacturing Hand Truck or as we would know them Sack Trucks or Sack Barrows for over 60 years, but with a difference.
The modular design sack truck allows you to pick and choose the parts you need to ensure that the sack truck does the job that you need it to.
Start off by picking the Magliner sack truck frame that is most suited to the application. If the load that you are carrying is for instance large straight boxes, then the no 1 of no 4 frame with suit. With straight cross members the frame will support a nice flat faced load. If the boxes are smaller then you may want to consider a Magliner no 2 frame, which has the same straight cross members, but also a downward support, creating a lattice back for the sack truck. this will stop smaller boxes falling through the truck. If the load is curved and you need a sack truck to move kegs, for example, or a sack truck to move cylinders, or a sack truck to move rolls of carpets or paper then look toward the number 5 frame that has curved cross members. this way the curves in the back of the sack barrow will rest the curves in the load. This will reduce the movement of the load against the frame.
Again taking into consideration the load, then choose you foot plate, Magline offer both aluminium and magnesium foot plates or toe plates. the magnesium is very very strong, but also remarkably light. the magnesium foot plates have cut-outs on the plate to allow the trolley to be stowed on the underside of lorries using retention hooks. Magliner offer a vast range of foot plates. These include folding foot plates for sack trucks, extending plates up to 1200mm which will make the truck as long on the plate as is high.
Now looking at the operator and the load simultaneously, look at the handle that you wanted to provide. When choosing the handle for your magliner also consider the load. Look at the height of the load, the height of the operator, and the nature of the drops that he will be doing. Then you can make an informed decisions as to which is the best suited. Is the operator tall or short, will he use the barrow single handed, can you use the handle to increase the height of the hand trolley. these are all things that you can alter when changing the handle configuration.
Now let look at the wheels, Magline offer both 8 inch and 10 inch wheels, 200mm and 250mm wheels. These are available as a solid wheel, or a pneumatic air filled tyre, but also as run flat tyres or Micro Cellular foam, polyurethane wheels, and are by far the best sack truck wheel in the industry (my humble opinion) and prove themselves to be very capable of working in any condition.
Then when you think you have finished Magliner offer a vast array of accessories for sack trucks, these include.
Sack truck document pouches, a small pouch that sits on the back of the sack truck or operators trolley so that he can carry his delivery notes, without holding them with his hands, allowing both hands to be free to control the sack barrow correctly.
Sack Truck ramps, these clever plastic hard wearing ramps are ideal for drivers to place on steps and kerbs, so that there is less bumping up and down kerbs. These are also used by many distribution companies as a roll cage ramp for aiding roll cages in an out of awkward deliveries.
Personalisation strips, brand your sack trucks, this may seem silly, but will reduce loss, or theft or your hand truck fleet substantially, in many cases absolutely eliminating the loss and theft of your sack trucks.
Wheel Guards, to protect the sack truck wheels, fro strapping pallet wraps, and string. This over time will seriously damage the bearing in the wheels.
Retractable 3rd and 4th wheels kits that will help the operator by supporting the loads for them.
And then when you think you have finished the are companies now offering Sack Truck Rental Schemes where you don't even need to have the head ache of ownership and repair, this is usually offered for companies with very large fleets of hand trolley
Bottled water trolleys, offer a graet solution to moving your bottle mineral waters, magliner offer a 4, 5, and 7 bottle carrier, which is still a light weight aluminum contructtion with folding shelves, to cradle the bottles. These are great peices but are very expesinve. There are trolley manufacturer out there that will manufactuse bespoke trolleys to teh application that may well save money, but teh Magliner unit is a great of the shelf solution.
